In 1938 Madame Alexander produced 16 different Disney character marionettes. Included in this lot are three - Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are each 9" tall. Pluto measures 8" long and has composition body. Complete w/elastic tail. Each marionette is complete w/wood/metal wire controller unit w/strings, Pluto's controller has no wires. Mickey and Minnie have painted composition heads, hands and feet over wood body and elastic legs. Fabric outfits. Mickey has stitched tag on back of shirt reading "Walt Disney's Marionettes - Mickey Mouse By Madame Alexander." Minnie has same tag, just w/her name. Outfits have aged. Composition parts show tiny scattered traces of paint wear, Mickey and Minnie's heads have all-over hairline crazing. Fine. Pluto has some paint wear to feet and tiny split at back left hip but is o/w VF. All marionettes in this series are scarce. See other marionettes from this series #2152 and #2165-2168.
