Item Description
1.75" slightly domed substantial metal badge although missing a horizontal bar pin once soldered on the reverse. Reverse has text "Excelsior 312 Olive St. Louis." Front of the badge has lost a little black from the lettering and the serial number "89." Thompson is well known for his early work in developing roller coasters and has the nickname Father Of The Gravity Ride. He accumulated 30 patents related to roller coaster technologies. This item relates to his 1887 creation of the Scenic Railway on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. Very rare and VF.
