Auction #208 - Part II
Item numbers 1278 through 3040 in auction 208
Item Description
Each about 2" tall litho tin with a center area in raised relief and with a fold-over tab at the top. While none of these tabs have been folded, the pieces laid somewhere that caused their reverses to pick up some rust stains, some quite dark brown in color, but varying in terms of coverage from about 5% to as much as 35% with the typical average being around 20%. Still, all text on the reverse and the chart of letters and symbols described as "Hoppy's Secret Code" remains totally readable. The fronts of these remain extremely bright and clean with high gloss and in most cases full color. Only exceptions are tiny trace of color off the upper left and bottom edge of "Hopalong Cassidy." California has couple dots off upper right. Lucky has tiny dot off bottom edge. "Marshall" has just dot or two of blistered paint at top. "Sheriff" has couple dots off edge and tab top. The remaining 7 show barely any front defects at all. Set remains extremely attractive and all of these were rare cookie box insert premiums seldom seen today. These came from the Gordon Gold Premium Archive. Comes with Hake's COA.
