This early Topps release from 1949 was issued in both card format and as stamps, all featuring the same choice portrait art. This is a set of 100 stamps originally issued as one full sheet, but now separated at the center and in two sheets, each 7x9. Stamps are each 7/8x1.5". Subjects include pirates including Black Beard and Capt. Kidd, tribesman, and movie stars in western roles such as Mae West and Fuzzy Knight. Scattered margin wear w/lt. crease across bottom of sheet. Unused gummed reverses. VG/Exc.
