Item Description
2.5x5.5x4.5" tall ceramic holder depicting Mickey Mouse asleep in a chair. No Disney markings but 1930s by Crown Devon, an English company that produced a few other Mickey Mouse figural items which are all very rare. Designed w/slightly recessed area at front for holding a votive-style candle and comes w/the correct vintage boxed candle by Price of London. Candle has waxed stiff paper band w/wrap-around design featuring images of Mickey, Donald Duck and Pluto carrying candles. Aged but unused. The box has character images on all sides. Scattered aging, Fine. Candle holder has some aging to the paint and wear to the surface of recessed area but easily hidden when candle is in place. Other small traces of paint wear on Mickey/base edges. Fine. Rare, especially w/boxed candle. The pair combine to make for an exceptional display. Comes w/clipped advertisement of the period for this item.
