Item Description
Original illustrated box contains interestingly designed all-in-one game unit by Ideal. 1950s. Box is complete w/original cardboard insert and has one inner flap loose (but included) and one end flap has been reattached w/tape. All other flaps have tape reinforcements. 2" corner/edge split and 1.5" piece off inner flap end. Box has even moderate aging and is VG overall. Game itself is 6x17.5x4.75" tall and has tin litho "track" top while rest is hard plastic. "Track" features great illustrations of many Disney characters, all in race day theme including Mickey Mouse w/stop watch, Donald Duck holding "laps" sign, Chip & Dale as mechanics, Pinocchio as a photographer, Dopey holding checkered flag and other characters as spectators including Tramp, Joe Carioca, Dumbo and others. Attached to the top are a pair of 2" long hard plastic race cars, one w/Mickey, the other Donald plus a pair of finish line flags. On the front is the mechanism which causes the cars to travel down the track. This consists of a divided area for each player w/"flipper" ball bearing and rotating lever which each time it is struck causes the car to move forward one jump. First car to reach finish line causes their flag to pop up. Underside is also complete w/wire stand to keep it upright. Inner rim of game top shows some lt. wear, but this appears to be as factory issued. Clear plastic ball bearing case/backing has a few cracks. Still displays VF.
