Item Description
Noble & Cooley produced many different Mickey Mouse toy instruments during the 1930s, including a variety of different sized toy drums. Offered here are the 9" and 13" dia. sizes, w/tin litho bodies and linen-like fabric drum heads. Both drums feature same wrap-around scene featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow and Pluto who has a large "Mickey Mouse Band" drum strapped to his back. The larger drum has this image twice. Both have original string binding and die-cut leather accent pieces. Illustrated bodies show lt. wear w/some age fading and are VG/Fine overall. Drum heads have moderate dust soiling/aging and some age spotting. Smaller drum has 1.5" split to top drum head w/heavy staining to bottom drum head which has a 5" crack. Fair/Good. Larger drum has some wear to bottom drum head w/some scattered staining but no tears/splits and comes w/drumsticks. Fine overall. Scarce.
