Item Description
Adco-Liberty Mfg. Corp. ©1954 National Comics Publications, Inc. Classic lunch box shows Superman fighting giant robot on front panel and classic Superman images of him rescuing a plane and Lois Lane as well as breaking chains on back. Band has images of Superman and "Superman" comic book title/logo. Left hand band side has slot for name and has "Superman's Friend Is ..." text. Rim edges show moderate wear w/streaks of bare metal showing, some w/trace oxidation. Band has scattered spider-webbing and bottom of band at right has 1.25" area w/slight indent. Interior shows wear w/lt. oxidation around edges. Metal handle, latch and attachment have scattered oxidation. Main panels remain bright and glossy w/only lt. wear. Still a VG example of one of the most desirable character lunchboxes. Our last example (in similar condition) sold for $632.
