Item Description
5.75x6.75” photo on thin cardboard of company building in Canton, Ohio, from 1896, covered in signage including big star with McKinley at center and what appears to be feather plumes at the top of tall brick column at left and matching Hobart at right of the store front. Three men pose before the front windows. Company name appears on signs hanging at front and left as “Dittenhafer Sign Co.” and even bigger sign on wall at left reads “Campaign Decorations” plus “Banners” across a large shield at center. More signs reading “Signs” on upper areas near roof but light contrast on upper most. Tiny pencil mark bottom right edge. Store name penciled on back but 2x2” area of surface paper loss from insects removed first few letters. A very neat, rare photo of company building with business established in 1865.
