Item Description
First is 6.5” tall with big rwb bow and fabric (moderate wear) stickpin at top. Full text is “The Nations Choice/GOP/1896/McKinley And McAlpin/For/President/And Vice President.” McKinley 1” real photo with image largely gone but McAlpin is VF. McAlpin and was long time Treasurer of the Republican Campaign Committee and President of McAlpin tobacco business. Vertical partial splits (3) on lower 2” and .5” of clear tape on the reverse at this area. Next with stickpin reverse is 6.5” tall ribbon. Long vertical splits 4/5” tall on margins but fabric attached at top. Can be positioned to mostly hide the splits. Gold off lettering but easily read top text “Tennessee’s Choice.” Jugate cello held by three ribbons names “William McKinley” and “H. Clay Evans.” Fair. Rare. Last is 5” tall and reads “For President/Wm. McKinley./For Governor,/John R. Tanner/Illinois/At/St. Louis, 1896.” 1.5” red stain upper left edge. Rare. From The Senator Charles Dick Collection.
