Item Description
This six piece group begins with June 2, 1936 typed and secretarial signed 8.5x11” letter from the office of Daniel Pomeroy, “Member For New Jersey” on “Republican National Committee” stationery. The letter confirms a request for convention tickets for Mr. Edward Miller and Mr. George Applegate. Paper has mail folds but clean. Next is 6.5x8.5” appointment certificate “To George S. Applegate, Sr. You Are Hereby Appointed Ass’t Sergeant-At-Arms.” Interior lists conventions and GOP party nominees since 1856. Light fold vertical and horizontal, but clean. Next is envelope 3x5” that comes with two tickets “Good All Days And Any Session.” One has eight hole punches and one is Mint. Last is the badge 3.5” tall in superb Mint gleaming brass luster naming the office on top bar and with Liberty and U.S. Capitol below plus “Cleveland/Republican National Convention 1936.” Rarely found so complete.
