Item Description
12.5x18.25x1.5" deep celluloid over wood tray w/woven wicker edge. Marked "This Tray Was Made By A St. Dunstan's War-Blinded Man" c. 1930-1931. Disney provided the cello panel and veterans then did the wicker work to make pocket money. There are eight classic images of Mickey Mouse, w/titles - "Mickey Himself!, Mickey Leads The Band!, Hello! Mickey Greets You All!, Poor Little Mickey - Sad And Forlorn!, Mickey Makes Some Music!, Mickey And His Saxophone!, Just A Song At Twilight, Mickey Plays The Drum!" In between these images are additional illustrations of him feeding, washing, snuggling and playing w/Kewpie-like baby. Extreme border of cello panel has moderate age fading but images are in no way affected and this panel o/w shows just some lt. surface wear. Bright and glossy. Fine/VF. One of the nicest of the few we've seen in our 47 years. Rare.
