Item Description
9" tall painted composition figure depicting a scowling, semi-long bill Donald Duck grasping a life preserver ring. At the center of the life preserver is a partial raised wax-like seal for Norddeutscher Lloyd passenger/shipping line based out of Bremen, Germany. Mid-1930s. We are unsure of the purpose of this figure, but it may have been sold on board passenger ships through a gift shop or given to travel agents for display. Underside has "Used With Permission Of Walt Disney Ent." text. Figure has all over general aging and scattered paint wear to brim of hat, bill and bow tie. 1" sliver of paint off one eye, blends somewhat. VG overall. Unusual figure and the first example we've seen in our 47 years.
