Item Description
Original 11.75x14.25x1.5" deep illustrated cardboard box contained girl's sueded-fabric vest and matching fringed skirt by Seneca Mfg. Co. ©1949 Robert E. (Bob) Smith. Box shows heavy and obvious wear and has been shrink-wrapped w/foam block within, stabilizing it significantly. VG overall, but main lid panel w/nice large image of Howdy on bucking horse still displays well. Size 4 costume features repeated "Howdy Doody" silk-screened portraits and front center of skirt features "Howdy Doody" image of him waving cowboy hat as he rides horse. Felt fringed trim. Felt has a scattered lt. age spotting and suede-like covering shows some wear along fold lines at sides, w/some cracking and minor surface loss. Set remains quite clean and displays Fine/VF overall. This girl's set is scarcer than the sets Seneca made for boys.
