When Hake's Buttons In Sets was published in 1984 we knew of 24 of these. We now know of 39 different and this exceptional collection includes 27 of those 39. Each is 1.25" and most have the back paper picturing Mickey and reading "Walt Disney Enterprises/Kay Kamen Ltd. Sole Representative" plus New York City address. In the top row of our photo are two buttons, the first we've seen, reading "Eat Tar Heel Bread" and "Eat Dutch Oven Bread." In our photo, rows two and three picture ten buttons we've only seen since the Buttons In Sets list was published. The bottom three rows in our photo show 15 of the original 24 listed in Buttons In Sets. Only a couple of items among these 27 show some age. Row one, #4 has tiny dark dots around the upper edge, row three, #5 has light stain on the right side, row four, #4 is lightly tanned but no stain, row six, #4 has some faded red color but remains totally clean. Those not listed are Exc. to Mint. The most extensive collection known to us.
