This collection, the most extensive known to us, is housed in a high quality black ring binder in its own slipcase. Buttons are arranged in alphabetical order in plastic coin pages. When Buttons In Sets was published in 1984 when knew of 252 different but that has been revised now to 256. This collection consists of 230 of those 256. In addition there are 90 reverse variations, as to issuer name or tin covered versus open back bringing the total number of buttons in this collection to 318. Of the 230 four have significant stain and 40 have trivial stain. Among back variation group of 90, five have significant stain and 30 have trivial stain. This set was primarily issued by Sweet Caporal Cigarettes and many of these include their back paper along with name of maker W&H. However in addition there is a solid metal back variety naming "Duke Cigarettes" along with "Sweet Caporal Cigarettes." The paper inserts in addition to Sweet Caporal name "New Light Little Cigars." Many of the actresses in this group are represented by two or even three different photographs. Some of the major names include: Maude Adams, Sarah Bernhardt, Fanny Davenport, Deyo, Della Fox, Lulu Glaser, Lily Langtry, Mabel Love, Julia Marlow, Lillian Russell, and Fanny Ward.
