Item Description
First is the standard "R.O.A. 1939 Secret Code" brass decoder badge. This is 1.75" and has vast majority of original luster. With it comes the scarcer silvered brass badge reading "R.O.A. 1939 Code Captain." This is 1-1/8" tall and was awarded to higher ranking club members. Reverse has a slide off secret compartment and includes a brass link chain so it could be joined to the pin on the reverse of the previous 1939 basic decoder. This piece is Essentially Mint. Next is 1941 Secret Guard "Captain" glow-in-dark eagle with shield badge. This large badge is 2-1/8" tall and it will glow slightly in the dark after light exposure. It displays Mint. Last is the "Code Captain" beautiful brass buckle and fabric belt from 1940. Reverse of the buckle includes the special code to be use by Code Captains and reads "Master Key Z-26" in reference to the 1940 decoder settings for translating secret messages transmitted by radio. Very trivial traces of tanning on the fabric belt but very close to being Mint as issued with beautiful Mint buckle. Also included is the brass clasp to fasten the belt.
