3x10-3/8" mailing envelope w/"Captain Midnight" return address has typed address label. Complete 1942 Ovaltine premium consists of 1.5" dia., 6" long cardboard tube w/images of "Official Wing And Tail Markings" as well as image of children using premium. One end of tube is complete w/cardboard insert w/tiny eye hole. Opposite end of tube is open and has slit for insertion of paper discs. All are 1.75" die-cut stiff paper. Includes "High Altitude Distance Finder, Distance Finder Low Altitude, Air Speed Calculator" and four w/plane silhouettes and country names on insert thin paper sheets. Includes US - Flying Fortress B-17E/Republic P-43, England - Manchester/Spitfire, Germany - Kurier FW300C/Focke Wulf 187, Japan - Mitsubishi Type 97/Zero Fighter. Also includes 8-3/8x10-15/16" thin paper sheet w/instructions, additional plane detection images to be cut out and coupon at lower right to order more "Plane Detector Kits For 10¢ In Coin And One Seal From Ovaltine." Envelope has scattered creasing from original mailing. Clean and VG. Tube is lightly aged and has a few minor creases at open end. VF. Discs come w/original small envelope and are NM. Sheet has vertical center crease as issued. Uncut and Exc. Incredible detail and high quality premium w/nice graphics. One of the rarest and most sought-after Captain Midnight premiums, especially in this choice condition. Only the second complete, unused example we've offered in our 47 years.
