Item Description
2" dia. watch w/raised metal fob attached via replaced leather strap. Pocketwatch dates to 1913 and commemorates the 25th anniversary of Wilhelm II’s rule. Back of watch has portrait of the Kaiser in high relief w/his name and title in German. Back of case is worn w/soiling at edges but text and image remain legible. Fine/VF. Front of case has scattered spots of aging by crystal, which shows moderate wear. VG. Dial features two German Imperial flags crossed w/German heraldic eagle above. Dial has some scattered wear/aging and is Fine overall. Works. 1.5x1.75" fob shows Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph w/Wilhelm surrounded by Imperial flags of Austria and Germany as well as German and Austrian soldiers shaking hand. Back has raised German text that translates to "In Memory Of The World War - 1914-1915." Fob was originally silver-plated, and has much luster loss, w/only highlights remaining. Displays Fine.
