Item Description
3-3/8x5-1/8" wide bisque figurine depicting Peary and Cook struggling to reach the North Pole of globe held between them, an obvious spoof on both their claims to have been to first to reach the North Pole in 1908/1909. Top of globe has incised "No. P." designation and each explorer's name is incised beside their image. Each explorer appears to wear snow-covered thick fur coat, having been coated in tiny ceramic granules, of which about 85% remain. This issue is more noticeable from the back and does not detract too much from overall appearance. Figurine has some dust soiling and aging to snow effects. Fine. Rare.
