Item Description
27.5" long (33" long to end of ladder) pressed steel firetruck. 1950s. Truck is highly detailed w/numerous decals, including famed firetruck manufacturer "American-La France" decal on driver's door, "Rossmoyne" decals (for Doepke's hometown of Rossmoyne, OH.) and Doepke decals on side of ladder bay. Other features include quilted aluminum running boards, ladder that raises and extends via knobs, extending outriggers, steering wheel that actually steers front wheels, spring-loaded simulated hydraulic pistons for raising ladder and two separate 18" long aluminum ladders. One hydraulic piston has end off, leaving spring exposed. Truck shows wear from use, w/scattered paint flakes and one "Rossmoyne" decal having sliver off top. Ladder mechanisms have aged but still function well. Painted metal brace main ladder rests on has some paint wear w/bare metal showing. Fine overall. Seldom found w/full complement of ladders. Nice vintage firetruck toy.
