Item Description
Large 22x28" sign on stiff board features actual "The Shadow" June, 1932 pulp cover paste-on at center showcasing The Shadow's eye and "Double Z" design. Cover is topped w/art image of hand holding scales. One side of scales shows police w/guns and batons drawn looking at criminals on other scale. Sign reads "The Shadow Knows - Do You Know?" w/smaller text below reading "The Shadow's Adventures On Sale At All News Stands - Ten Cents." Sign has moderate all over restoration, w/about 95% of white lettering touched-up and scattered touch-up to orange text at bottom. Orange bkg. has mostly been repainted. Upper right corner has had 4.5" heavy crease repaired and upper left has had pinhole at corner repaired. Bottom corners have some rounding and white margin border has moderate touch-ups. Despite extensive restoration, pulp cover and art images remain untouched and sign retains a VF/Exc. appearance. One of the best and rarest of all Shadow promotional signs. First we've offered in our 47 years and one of only a few examples known. Rare.
