5.75" tall hand-painted figural plaster ashtray featuring great fully dimensional caricature image including large open mouth for use as ashtray. 1940s. Comes w/original 2-1/8x4.25" Bassons tag labeling ashtray as "Der Fuehrer's Face" w/additional text reading "Hitler's The Nitwit Who Started It All - But Bigger Guys Have Taken A Fall - Here's His Mouth Like His Head So Hollow - Let's Give Him Plenty Of Rubbish To Swallow." Tag shows handling wear w/.5" tag by hole used to attached tag to ashtray and moderate dust soiling. VG. Ashtray itself has incised designer name on back of base along w/patent number and shows lt. scattered wear w/scattered paint wear to hair accents and interior of mouth. Fine overall.
