Item Description
Lot of seven 11" tall canvas-covered weighted figures w/wood bases. 1940s. Painted on both sides, five of the seven have additional name painted on both sides of bases. These include two marked "Hitler," one marked "Jap," another marker "Boche" in reference to an alternate way to describe the people of Germany and one marked "Moussi," referencing Mussolini. These were used in carnival games of skill where balls were thrown to knock these over and prizes were awarded. "Punks" show heavy wear w/dust soiling/wear from use w/only "Moussi" punk retaining majority of original wool trim. Unmarked punks have trace of wool whereas other have wool completely missing. VG overall and comes w/worn carnival softball. Interesting lot.
