Item Description
17" tall stuffed fabric doll w/cloth head (also produced in a variety w/a rubber head) and composition shoes w/wooden corncob pipe in mouth and mother of pearl buttons. Sailor hat has oilcloth brim. Printed anchor "tattoos" on arms. ©1935 Fleischaker & Baum. Original string tag designed like spinach crate w/"Spinach That Makes Pop-eye Strong" text on one side and image of Popeye on reverse saying "Blow Me Down! It's The Spinach That Makes Me Strong!" Tag has aging on reverse and faint crease by hole. Fine. Doll has lt. scattered aging to pants. Shirt has 1" split at seam under left arm and five 1" to 1.5" splits to shirt front, though these blend somewhat. As is, doll is o/w clean and still maintains a VF appearance for display.
