Item Description
Lot includes XL size 100% Shetland wool cable-knit sweater has "Neil Martin" tag at collar and black knit winter cap. Pieces came from the collection of Bradley Anderson, a professional costumer who worked w/Sylvester Stallone on 13 movies of his as his personal costumer, including "Rocky V." Stallone gave this sweater and hat to Anderson as a gift. When Anderson was tragically killed in a robbery at the age of 41 in 2000, he left several dozen items to his friend Marion Kirk, a fellow costume designer who worked w/Stallone on his 1994 film "The Specialist." Kirk later decided to sell off Anderson's memorabilia, donating the profits to Anderson's mother in her son's memory. Sweater features lettering like that used by ringside crew in "Rocky," but we are unsure if sweater and hat were film-used. Sweater has scattered aging (more moderate on back bottom) and trace of wear to "Rocky" lettering on back and 3.5" and 4" areas of stitching repair at tops of shoulders. Fine overall. Comes w/letter from Marion Kirk detailing item's provenance.
