Item Description
11x14" title card for original 1944 release of the Republic serial starring Dick Purcell as Captain America. Serial has Captain America trying to stop the plans of the villain Scarab regarding his attempts to acquire super weapons. Star Purcell died a few weeks after filming was completed. Title card is for Chapter 10 "The Avenging Corpse" and has image of Captain America punching villain and holding gun on villains w/two other images showing him in his alter ego as District Attorney Grant Gardner. Lobby card has .25" margin tear at left o/w very clean and VF/Exc. Comes w/three vintage 8x10" glossy stills. First still is for original 1944 release w/close-up image of Purcell as Captain America. Other two are from 1953 re-release which was retitled "Return of Captain America" (see item #2637) and both are different scenes w/him holding villains at gunpoint. All stills are glossy and VF. All four items feature great images of Captain America.
