Item Description
The "Peace" dollar was a dollar coin minted by the US Mint from 1921 to 1928, and again in 1934 and 1935. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the coin was the result of a competition to find designs emblematic of peace. The obverse features Lady Liberty crowned w/a tiara similar to that seen on the Statue of Liberty. Its reverse depicts a Bald Eagle at rest clutching an olive branch, w/"Peace" legend below it. It was the last US dollar coin to be struck for circulation in silver. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
