Item Description
9.25" dia. tin litho toy w/built-in key and separate tin litho airplane (w/figural Mickey Mouse pilot figure and plastic disc propeller) w/height of 5" on metal rod that connects to the "Disneyville" building at center. 1950s. Scene on top of the base depicts Mickey and Minnie Mouse going on a picnic, Donald Duck and Pluto looking up at the airplane, Goofy sleeping, two of Donald's Nephews fishing while another lights firecracker. There are two tunnels, one featuring Donald images and the other Mickey. Also attached to the base is a bridge and the streamlined train. Outer rim edge of base reads "The Mickey Mouse Express" w/additional character illustrations and train depiction. Toy works and the train and airplane rapidly travel in a circle. The Mickey tunnel has a flag switch which when in the down position, causes the train to stop when it enters the tunnel. Toy has some tiny scattered paint nicks and scratches but retains a bright and glossy appearance. VF. Nicely designed toy.
