Item Description
Original black wood frame 5x5-5/8" has two beveled edges on the reverse while the front has recessed oval around a slightly raised brass oval liner that includes a small repeating pattern on its inner edge. The oval glass covered image area is 2.5x3-1/8". His coat is blue/black with somewhat lighter blue highlights on the open edges, left sleeve and collar. There are eight tiny marks, most 1/16" or less, on his right side coat where the glass under the paint shows through very slightly. Brass liner has a few near pinpoint tarnished dots and wood frame has only very minimal wear. A copper color screw eye on top edge holds an old copper color ring for suspension. Back is covered in paper with multi-hued rose coloration and random gold veins. An excellent quality portrait of our second President and a unique piece to display to represent his place in our Presidential history.
