Item Description
7-3/8x9-5/8" with six fold lines from long ago. Reverse has pencil notation to original recipient "Conductor 6 o'clock PM (appears to be "PM", partially covered by repair) train." The repairs, both older paper and newer archival paper tape are 1" deep running horizontal across the old folds 2" and 5" down from the top. From the front there are some tan stain caused by the old tan paper repair on the back showing mostly below the words "Special Train." Complete text on top half of sheet reads: "New York Central Rail-road/Special Time Table/Between/Syracuse And Rochester/Via Direct Road./For Pilot Train And Special Train/With The/Remains Of The Late President Abraham Lincoln./To Be Used On Wednesday, The 26th Of April, 1965." Below are fourteen town station names between Syracuse and Rochester plus departing times of "Pilot Train" and "Special Train With Remains." At bottom is 2" deep text panel with "Special Rules And Instructions" including "Engineers Of Following Trains Will Use The Utmost Vigilance In Looking Out For Signals." The time table carries the name of "W.G. Lapham, Ass't Supt." A rare artifact of our assassinated President's final journey home to Springfield, Illinois arriving May 3, 1865. VG.
