Item Description
8" tall and 8" wide from spout to handle. Underside displays company trademark, hand inked rose colored number "1436" and book publisher credit "Copyright Edward Stern & Co." who published the books of stories by Seymour Eaton about the travels and adventures of Teddy B and Teddy G, the Roosevelt bears. Surface is covered with scenes from the books with four large ones in color and sixteen in brown tone. These pitchers are typically heavily stained and/or chipped and cracked. This example has only minor condition issues. The panel showing them at work on their auto has 3" hairline from top edge down but is so fine as to barely show on close inspection. The tanning is very limited with small areas on only three color panels. A .25" deep line goes across most of the car scene along the scene top. The teacher scene has a similar line but only 2" at left. The "Bears At Home" has 1" mark left of Teddy B, the giraffe scene has only faint .5" mark far left and right. There is a light 1" mark on the handle. Three of the color scene background areas have some small gray marks which is in the production. The vast majority remains bright white with full gloss and gorgeous color. While not pristine, still superior to most examples. Julie Powell Collection.
