Item Description
Released on August 5, 1996, this commemorative coin was released in honor of the 150th Anniversary of the Smithsonian. The obverse was designed by Alfred Maletsky and features a classical bust of James Smithson with the double date, 1846-1996. The reverse features a design by T. James Ferrell of the Smithsonian Sunburst logo and the word "Smithsonian." This is a Proof coin minted at the West Point Mint. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
