7.25" long by 5.25" tall. Made in Germany by Einfalt. c. 1920s. Tin litho toy w/built-in key (under Jiggs). There were two versions made of this toy. One is unmarked and has solid colored outfits. On this version the back of Maggie's dress reads "Copyright 1924 By International Features Syndicate - Geo. McManus" and the outfits are multi-colored. 3.75" tall three-dimensional figures are attached to wheeled platforms connected by thin flat tin strip. Both figures have separate arms. Maggie holds a rolling pin in one hand. Jiggs holds a cane. "Maggie" name on her dress and "Jiggs" name on his hat. Spotted dog under Maggie's feet. Toy works and travels back and forth, making quick stops which cause the two figures to lunge at each other, swinging their arms. A few scattered nicks and scratches from use, but toy works well and overall color remains bright and glossy. VF/Exc. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
