Item Description
Vast majority of these are from WWII and earlier. Sizes are about .5" to the figural drum button in row one which is 1.75". This has been pushed in slightly but still displays Mint. First example we've seen. Also in row one is gorgeous color portrait button of the founder Booth with lightly stained back paper "The Salvation Army Uniform And Outfit Department/London." Reverse has .25" cello split but barely making any bump on rim edge when viewed from the front. Second is a real photo of unknown man in uniform. Third is by W&H showing woman member with text "Here's Mine-Where's Your's/Salvation Army Home Service." This piece is circa WWI. Many of the smaller buttons are from the WWI era. The single button in row five pictures "Captain Mac/The First Australian S.A. Chaplin." Has a 3/8" cello split on the back with cello making small bump on bottom edge. Tiny stain touch. Only example we've seen of this Australian issue and the additional items in rows six and seven are all Australian in origin. First one of these reading "In Peace/As In War" showing young child making a contribution has light age but the rest are clean. Numerous rarities. See following related large group.
