Auction #210 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1270 in auction 210
Item Description
Sizes are 7/8" to 1.75". First two picture Marshal Petain. First has .25" cello split by the collet but the front still displays Mint as does the second for him. Next are a pair for "General Foch" and "Marshal Foch." This second larger piece has a 1" hairline crack to the right of his head but it shows little. Next two show Italian General Diaz. First is a real photo with light age on the background. The larger of the two is rare. Next comes General Haig. Next is Czech Minister of War Gen. Stefanik. This button is from slightly after the WWI era. In bottom row is General Joffre. This is followed by Armenian nationalist Gen. Andranic (misspelled on the button as Antranik). In WWI he commanded the Armenian volunteer battalion and led them against the Ottoman army. Next shows Commander In Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet 1919-1921 "Admiral Hugh Rodman." (see him with Wilson item #326) Scarce and NM displaying Mint. Last from a WWI set is "U.S.A.-J. Franklin Bell." All are Exc. to Mint except as noted. Many rarities.
