Item Description
Complete set of five bisque figurines w/movable arms. Made in Germany and distributed by Strobel and Wilken Co. of New York and Chicago. c. 1914. Set includes - Little Nemo (4-7/8" tall), Princess (5.25" tall), Flip (4.5" tall), Doctor Pill (4-5/8" tall) and Imp (5" tall). We believe four of the five have been re-strung. Tiny hairline stress line to top of Nemo's plumed hat as produced. Only noticeable when viewed from top. Flip has tiny shallow indent at mouth that once held small cigar. Unfortunately, this cigar is now missing. Underside of Flip has original ink inscription "Mabel From Billy B. Portland Oreg. 6/23/14." Exc./NM. These are the rarest character bisques and this is the only known complete set of original bisques. We sold this same set to Maurice Sendak in Jan., 2008 for $22,411. Offered here is a unique opportunity to obtain the Holy Grail of Little Nemo merchandise at a conservative opening bid. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
