Auction #210 - Part II
Item numbers 1271 through 3109 in auction 210
Item Description
First is a 2.5" button from Duluth, Minn maker issued for "Winter Carnival/Michigan Tech/Jan. 31 to Feb. 3/1974" with subtitle "Sub Zero Hero." Pictured is a character with a shockingly exact resemblance to Homer Simpson. Character wears a wool hat and holds a bottle in one hand while he is encased in a block of ice seated on a hand truck. Small speck center left was dirt now removed. Just trivial surface wear in reflected light. Only example we've seen. Comes with 6" button which has bar pin and fold-out easel. Reverse has tape stain on about 5% but otherwise the piece is Mint. It shows the entire Simpsons Family with facsimile signature lower right of creator Matt Groening. An early issue with 1989 copyright on the curl.
