Item Description
First in a 3" long mailing box is the mechanical badge from the radio show Helen Trent. Mailing label has return address of NYC "Whitehall Pharmacal Co." Light wear but VF although with name "Helen Trent" inked on the blank reverse. The badge itself is designed as a radio with die-cut window at top and a ruby jeweled knob that turns to move five different cast photos into the window. If the piece is disassembled, The names of the characters including "Helen Trent" are printed on the reverse of the paper photo disk. This long running show lasted from 1933-1960. The badge is from 1949 and is a gorgeous NM example displaying Mint. First we've seen with original mailer. Second in a 2.75" square box is a large high relief embossed brass floral pin with color accents. Mailing label on this one is from "The Charles H. Phillips Chemical Co." NYC. Box is Fine. Inside is a card addressed "Dear Friend" and saying "Here's The Stunning Orchid Pin You Sent For..." with additional promo text about Phillips' Milk Of Magnesia Cleansing Cream Or Texture Cream. The promotional text is signed by soap opera character "Stella Dallas." The back of the card has additional text about acquiring premiums from NBC radio shows including Waltz Time, Manhattan Merry-Go-Round, Backstage Wife, Stella Dallas, Lorenzo Jones, Orphans Of Divorce, Amanda Of Honeymoon Hill. Box bottom has two split corners. 1940s. Rare and especially so boxed.
