1-3/8x1-3/8" enameled pin miniature of "Clayton Moore" TV star on the popular tourist destination Hollywood Walk of Fame, a series of more than 2,500 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, CA. The stars are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, etc. The Walk of Fame is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and maintained by the self-financing Hollywood Historic Trust. Back of pin has small raised "Off. Lic. Prod. Hollywood C.C. PM, Co." noting these were given to star recipients by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Pin is NM and comes w/typed Sotheby's letter providing provenance as well as string tag from "Sotheby's - The Clayton Moore Collection" 2000 auction which features nice photo image of Moore as The Lone Ranger. Moore was so identified w/The Lone Ranger that he is the only person on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to have his character's name along w/his on the star, which reads, "Clayton Moore — The Lone Ranger." A unique item once owned by a Western legend.
