Item Description
The Superman-Tim joint venture ran 1942-1950. The letter in this lot predates that run. 8.25x9.75" typed "The Knicker" letter to members of Tim's Pie Eaters Club (which started in 1929) is undated but 1930s and from before Superman was partnered w/Tim for promotions. Letter mentions birthday pie and has secretarial "Tim" signature in black ink. Pie choices listed include Apple, Peach, Raisin, Pineapple, Raspberry and Apricot. Letter has been folded as mailed and shows wear w/small tears at edges by fold line and tiny piece off upper left corner. VG. Comes w/11.75" long felt mini pennant issued by various clothing stores during the 1940s. Silk-screened design includes full figure image of flying Superman plus Tim portrait. Yellow color variety w/blue design/text. Two small holes to left margin as originally pennant had rivets. No streamers. Scattered dust soiling w/slight stain/discoloration to area to left of Superman image. Silk-screen images are 100% complete. VG/Fine. Scarce.
