Item Description
Original 14x36" poster for 1972 American release of Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film "A Clockwork Orange" adapted from Anthony Burgess' 1962 novella of the same name. It employs disturbing, violent images to comment on psychiatry, juvenile delinquency, youth gangs, and other social, political, and economic subjects in a dystopian future Britain. The film starred Malcolm McDowell and a small gang of thugs, whom he calls his "Droogs." Poster features the now classic design of Alex (McDowell's character) holding a knife over an eyeball with additional image of Korova Milk Bar dispenser. Poster also bears the initial American "X" rating due to the film's violent themes, which caused much controversy at the time. Poster has some lt. corner tip wear but if framed would display Exc.
