Large and heavy 5.5x10.5x10.25" tall painted plaster store display figure from Belgium. 1939 as noted by incised date on backside of base, which reads "Hildebert Derre - Antwerpen 1939." Back of base also has incised Walt Disney/Mickey Mouse Ltd. copyright. Front of base has raised "Dopey" name. Great comical depiction of the popular character from "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs," walking forward w/his large ears sticking out from under his hat. Dopey's hand has hole, though we are unsure what he once held, likely a flag of some sort. We are also unsure of what product this figure was meant to advertise. Even all over aging w/some scattered wear, including some small flakes to hat, ear and forward foot. Fine overall. Rare and first we've seen in our 48 years.
