Item Description
9x12" 32-page booklet "How To Make Movie Cartoons." c. 1930s. Color illustrations on front and back covers showing Betty Boop using ink and pen to compose scene showing Bimbo and Koko the Clown filming scene featuring Betty. Photo image of Max Fleischer on the first page w/illustration of Betty standing in his hand. Two-page text starts "Dear Young Artist Friends" and goes on to explain process of drawing movie cartoons. Bottom of second page of text is signed "Sincerely Yours - Fleischer" w/facsimile signature. Alternating pages show illustration sequence on one page w/corresponding text on the other. Step-by-step instructions for drawing Betty, Koko and Bimbo. Two pages show additional characters w/center caption "Betty Boop's Cartoon Friends." Last six pages are designed to be cut and made into flip book action movie. Pages have scattered penciling while three pages have some neatly done coloring, including one especially well-done page. Cover is loose and several pages are loose from binding, but all is complete and intact. VG.
