Item Description
9.5x20x2" deep box. Marks Bros. Co. c. 1934. Same circus theme illustration appears on the lid, box bottom and separate backdrop board and features Mickey Mouse as ringmaster, Pluto as clown, Minnie Mouse balancing on the back of Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow on trapeze. Box lid shows moderate handling/edge wear w/1" tear and glue repairs to three corner splits. VG, but main panel of lid retains bright colors. Thick cardboard backdrop fits into slotted wood block at the top inside of the box bottom. Attached to this board are four cardboard pieces depicting Mickey and Minnie Mouse on trapeze swings w/raised hands holding wooden cups. These separate pieces are mounted on a post and a ball is placed in the cup on the top one which in turn tips and causes the ball to fall from one piece to the next. At bottom it rings a bell and then rolls into the box bottom into one of the designated score areas. Missing generic wooden ball. Most examples of this game have creases to the pieces holding cups. This example has no creases and figure cards are Exc. Rest of game remains totally bright, clean and Exc. Great design. Scarce. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
