Large and impressive celluloid toy (w/metal legs) has built-in key in back and stands 8" tall. Made in Japan as noted by raised text on back of Donald's collar along w/Disney copyright. 1930s. Original fabric hat tassel intact. Toy works, and when wound, Donald waddles about, jointed bill opens and closes as a mechanical quack noise is issued from within. Top of hat and right side of Donald's bill have slight indent, but these blend nicely and toy still retains an Exc. appearance. Original store price string tag still tied around one foot. Among the largest Donald Duck celluloid items produced, this toy towers over most of his contemporaries. Extremely rare, there are only a few known examples of this toy, this being one of the nicest.
