Auction #184 - Part II
Item numbers 953 through 2651 in auction 184
Item Description
St. John had a long string of success as a publisher of comics. Still, when the market changed after the end of the war, they needed to adapt like any other publisher. One of the ways they did was by offering the reader crime stories that were on the level of the sensationalistic pulps of the time. The title became so notorious that it was directly referenced in Seduction of the Innocent. This issue stands out for the appearance of the Masked Black Jack. The pages are off-white to white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.2 (NM-). According to the CGC Census, this copy is the highest-graded copy they have seen. It is also recognized as being part of the Mile High Pedigree.
