Item Description
Pair of official US Treasury Department posters, both from 1918. First poster measures 20x30" features nice large image of old man seeing his soldier son off by Lauren S. Harris w/"Good Bye, Dad, I'm Off To Fight For Old Glory, You Buy U.S. Gov't Bonds - Third Liberty Loan" text. Printed by Sackett & Wilhelms Corp. Poster has small "9-A" designation at lower left and has been folded. Fold crease intersections show lt. wear w/.25" tear at bottom intersection and moderate handling wear to top and bottom margins. 2" tear along lower right margin (by son's elbow) has archival tape repair on reverse. VG. Larger size 28x41.5" poster features red, white and blue bkg. and features inset image of mother and daughter praying by HH Green w/large "My Soldier" text at top followed by variation on the Lord's Prayer w/wartime protection/return theme and "Buy United States Government Bonds - Third Liberty Loan" text. Poster shows obvious wear w/pieces missing at margins from posting. Good/VG.
