8x10" typed letter on illustrated "Mickey Mouse Weekly" letterhead is dated Jan. 31, 1938 and addressed to English patient in St. Georges Hospital in London. Letter has been signed "Mickey" in ink and letter states Mickey has been informed about the boy's illness and is sending him a free premium "Mickeydrome" to cheer him up and asks that the patient write him when he is back home and well. Very touching letter. Folded in quarters and lightly aged. VF. Comes w/thin cardboard premium w/assembled size of 4x8.5x3-3/8" tall. Detailed art includes full theater and images on the walls of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow and others. Designed w/sliding roof panels to display interior. Front has cut-out pair of windows for viewing films made by assembling strips of cartoon images from Mickey Mouse Weeklies. These "films" are run through a pair of folding panels on the back. Back also has pull-out theater curtains. Comes w/an assembled "film" which has handwritten "The Photographers" title. Also comes w/cardboard cut/uncut sheet of English coins w/Mickey images on reverses; group of tiny posters cut-out from the Weeklies to be posted on sides of the theater, this has been done w/some, but some are loose. Scattered lt. wear/aging. Fine overall. Nicely designed.
