Item Description
High quality 25.5x31" poster print of the 1927 poster depicting Baker mostly nude (though discreetly posed) in a very stylized depiction along w/a stereotypical depiction of a black man's face at lower right. 1980s. Print bears Feb. 12, 1927 date and features French text that translates to "The Good Negro." Baker refused to perform for segregated audiences in America, moving to France where she became a citizen in 1937. Print has been linen-mounted and rolled. Displays NM.
